Ramblings of an Antiquated Mind

With friends like these….

  • Have the opponents of the Common Core standards actually read them?
  • Education reformers cannot argue for that status quo with more money thrown at it- that is not reform
  • Common Core standards are innocuous, at worst…
  • School choice is a terrible idea for everyone…except Matt Damon…and our President
  • Corporate charter schools are not the answer- for profit education is dangerous
  • School choice is alive and well in Arizona
  • If you hate America- Howard Zinn is your kind of historian
  • Shouldn’t we scrutinize Zinn’s scholarship the way the historical community picked over Stephen Ambrose’s work ?
  • I challenge you to find a better WW2 book than “Band of Brothers”
  • Hate is a strong word….so is love
  • Forget the dry heat- 118 degrees is too hot
  • History from the bottom up allows too much manipulation from the top down…
O'er the land of the free

O’er the land of the free

  1. Stephen Ambrose’s “Undaunted Courage” is one of my all time favorite books. How is it that school can make the journey of Lewis and Clark so boring?!
